Deion Sanders did not attend a taping of his weekly CU Buffs football coaches show Thursday in Boulder for health reasons, university officials confirmed when reached by The Denver Post.

The CU Coaches Show, which is held from noon to 1 p.m. at The Post Chicken & Beer restaurant in Boulder, was without Coach Prime Thursday because the 56-year-old Sanders wasn’t feeling well and had received an IV.

A spokesman for Buffs athletics declined to elaborate but confirmed Sanders’ absence. CU officials stressed to The Post that the coach is fine.

Sanders, whose 3-2 Buffs visit 1-4 Arizona State on Saturday in Tempe, Ariz., has had to navigate several health concerns in recent years. The Pro Football Hall-of-Famer missed Pac-12 Media Day in July because of a blood clot procedure, his second surgery in as many months. The NFL legend had two toes amputated while he was coaching at Jackson State in 2021.
