AI tells everyone to wear protection or die as world to hit population limit

Humans could be about to hit the limits of its population figures – and Artificial Intelligence has warned us all to “use protection or die”.

The heart-warming comments were made by Google's AI-powered large language model called Bard. The actual limit of what the planet could hold in terms of population is not fully known, but the current world population number is 7.88 billion.

Experts from the United Nations have claimed that by 2100, the world could have a population of 10.9 billion – which some also claim could be the very limit. And in advance of that, the Daily Star had a chat with Bard and asked it what would happen to humans if that limit was reached . . . and how we could stop it from happening.

The worst consequences were split into several categories, including resource depletion, deforestation, pollution, climate change, poverty and social unrest – all of which could lead to high-than-normal death figures. And in a slightly wordy, almost statesman-like response, Bard said: “Addressing the challenge of population growth requires a multifaceted approach that encompasses various aspects of social, economic, and environmental development.

“Providing access to family planning services and education, including modern contraceptives, can empower individuals to make informed decisions about their reproductive choices. This can help reduce fertility rates and contribute to stabilizing population growth. As populations grow, cities need to expand and adapt to accommodate more people efficiently. “Planning for sustainable urban development, including efficient transportation systems, green spaces, and mixed-use zoning, can help reduce the environmental impact of population growth.”

It also went into great, and very descriptive detail, about what kinds of protection humans could use to prevent more population growth. From long-acting reversible contraceptives, to the patch and the “vaginal ring”, it said that all of this could “help mitigate the negative consequences of population growth”.

Normally with Bard, it adds a caveat to comments it makes, but not this time.

It ended its comments with: “Addressing population growth is a complex challenge that requires a comprehensive and long-term approach. By implementing these strategies and continuing to research and innovate, we can work towards a more sustainable and equitable future for all.”
